Every solar panel on a roof needs a brain — the box that turns raw sunlight into clean, usable power, decides when to store it, and keeps the lights on when the grid blinks. In Surat, Gujarat, that brain is now being built at serious scale. Gronsol Inverter Technology LLP has commissioned a 34,000 sq ft manufacturing plant at Kosmada in Surat that the company says can turn out around 12,000 inverters every month, moving it from solar brand to full-fledged Indian manufacturer of solar power electronics.

The plant, whose first phase was commissioned during FY 2025-26, is built around the full electronics-manufacturing stack. The company says its lines cover surface-mount and through-hole assembly for printed circuit boards, with in-house testing and validation for electrical, thermal and load performance, controlled clean-room environments for electronics assembly, and firmware integration under the same roof. That matters because an inverter lives or dies on its electronics: the boards, the switching, the software that juggles solar, battery and grid in real time.
Built like an electronics factory, not an assembly shed
Gronsol has also set up in-house research and development and product validation at the Surat site, which the company says lets it develop faster, tailor solutions for EPC players and utilities, and fold market feedback into new products more quickly. The manufacturing operations are housed under Gronsol Inverter Technology LLP, and the company says a second phase of expansion is already planned as demand grows across residential, commercial and industrial solar.
The range coming off those lines covers the whole rooftop story. The company says its on-grid string inverters span 1 kW to 110 kW for homes, housing societies and commercial rooftops, while its hybrid inverters, built for combined solar, battery and grid operation, span 3 kW to 80 kW — alongside micro-inverters and energy storage systems. Its hybrid range, the company says, uses transformerless technology with up to 97.6% efficiency, dual MPPT tracking, switching between sources in 6 to 10 milliseconds, an inbuilt Zero Export application for homes without net metering, and Wi-Fi monitoring through its cloud platform and app.
Power electronics, made in Surat, serviced across India
Behind the factory sits a growing service network. Gronsol says service hubs are already operational in Surat, Noida, Patna, Kochi and Bengaluru, with more planned in Jaipur, Lucknow, Pune, Nagpur and Karnal — the unglamorous backbone that decides whether a solar system keeps performing years after installation. The company also points to two recognitions at the REconnect Summit 2025, where it says it was named Startup of the Year and Most Trusted Solar Inverter Brand in India.
India’s solar boom is usually told in gigawatts of panels. Gronsol’s Surat plant tells the other half of the story: the Indian-built electronics that make those panels useful, tested and serviced close to home, at a pace of thousands of units a month — and only gathering speed.
