Under almost every truck and bus that carries India — the loaded tipper climbing a mountain road, the city bus running its hundredth trip of the day, the trailer hauling goods across states — there is a spring quietly taking the punishment of the road. In a great many of those vehicles, that spring was designed and built in Yamuna Nagar, Haryana, by Jamna Auto Industries Limited, a company that has spent seven decades perfecting the art of suspension.
Jamna Auto Industries is a suspension systems company. The company says it manufactures leaf springs, parabolic springs, lift axles and air suspensions for a wide range of commercial vehicles — and it does so at a scale that makes it one of the major producers of leaf and parabolic springs in the world.
From a small Yamuna Nagar shop to a ten-plant company
The story begins in 1954, when founder Shri Bhupinder Singh Jauhar started the spring business in a small shop in Yamuna Nagar. That shop grew into Jamna Auto Industries Limited, incorporated on 30 September 1965, and today the company says it operates 10 plants across India, manufacturing high-quality suspension systems with state-of-the-art machinery and advanced processes.
From its registered office on Jai Springs Road in Yamuna Nagar, with a corporate office in Faridabad, Jamna Auto serves customers across the country. Its plants span Yamuna Nagar, Pune, Chennai, Hosur, Jamshedpur, Pantnagar and more — a footprint that puts its springs close to the truck and bus factories they supply.
What it actually makes
The company’s range covers the full world of commercial-vehicle suspension. Its leaf springs and parabolic springs carry the load; its lift axles help heavy vehicles manage weight and fuel; its air suspensions smooth the ride; and its allied range includes trailer mechanical and air suspensions, bus air suspensions, stabilizer bars and Z-springs. Where the road gets hardest, Jamna Auto has an answer — including its Hill Series leaf spring, engineered with an extra-thick eye for tough roads and extra-heavy loads.
That engineering shows up wherever India moves goods and people. The company’s suspension systems go into trucks, buses, trailers and agricultural implements, supplied to original equipment manufacturers, to the replacement market and to export customers. The company says it is a well-known brand in the automotive industry across all three markets — OEM, replacement and export.
Scale that shows up in the numbers
For springs, the company says it has the highest annual capacity of over 3,00,000 MT — a figure that speaks to just how much of India’s commercial-vehicle suspension flows through its plants. In FY25, Jamna Auto Industries reported consolidated revenue of Rs 2,270.14 crore with a profit after tax of Rs 180.32 crore, the company says — a scale built not on noise, but on springs that keep working, load after load, road after road.
Its vision, the company says, is to become the global leader in a variety of automotive suspension solutions and to expand its customer base in all its markets. It is a quiet kind of leadership: no fanfare, just the spring beneath the vehicle, doing its job so India keeps moving.
For a company that began as a small shop in Yamuna Nagar and grew into a ten-plant suspension house supplying the vehicles that carry the nation, Jamna Auto Industries is a shining example of Indian manufacturing at its finest — strong, dependable and built to last.
