Every rooftop solar panel has the same quiet flaw: it works hardest when most homes need it least. The sun pours in at midday, and by evening, when the lights, fans and cookers switch on, the roof has gone dark. In Ahmedabad, a company called Solaryaan has spent seven years building the missing piece — the box on the wall that lets a home keep its sunshine for after sunset.

Solaryaan, the clean-energy brand of HowD Innovations Pvt. Ltd., was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The company says its inverters and energy systems now power more than 500,000 solar installations across India, spanning homes, businesses and industries — a footprint built on solar inverters, hybrid energy solutions, battery storage, EV chargers and energy management, all under its purpose of empowering a billion lives with clean energy.

The centrepiece of its range is the All-in-One, or AIO, series: a single-phase energy storage system that combines a hybrid inverter and a battery pack into one wall-mounted unit. The company lists a 10.24 kWh battery pack with 6,000 life cycles, a 10-year on-site warranty and 95 per cent depth of discharge, with IP66 protection, double off-grid backup capability and a one-channel UPS function — the kind of specification sheet that turns a rooftop array from a daytime generator into a round-the-clock power source.

At the Renewable Energy India Expo 2026 in Greater Noida, held from 22 to 24 October, Solaryaan showcased the full breadth of that ecosystem. Alongside the AIO, the company showed hybrid inverters from 3 to 10 kW for homes, microinverters from 600 W to 2,400 W with module-level monitoring, and three-phase hybrid inverters for larger rooftops and commercial sites. For businesses and industry, its 125 kW / 241 kWh battery energy storage system is designed for peak-demand management, solar storage and backup power, while its DM-series configurations scale from 241.05 kWh to 7.23 MWh.

The bigger story, though, is where all of this will be made. Under its Solaryaan 2.0 strategy, the company is advancing plans for a 2,00,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Kadi, Gujarat, targeting 5 GWh of battery manufacturing capacity in the next financial year. The first phase alone is planned to deliver 1.2 GWh of lithium-ion battery capacity alongside 2 GW of inverter manufacturing — a deliberate shift from a solar inverter business into an integrated clean-energy solutions provider, with the factory, the battery and the inverter all coming from the same Indian stable.

For the Indian homeowner, the promise is beautifully simple: sunshine collected at noon, lights on at midnight, and a grid connection that becomes a backup rather than a lifeline. For Indian industry, it is something larger still — a homegrown energy stack, from inverter to battery to factory floor, built to carry the country’s solar boom past sunset. That is energy independence in its most literal sense, and Solaryaan is building it one wall-mounted box at a time.
