For a fleet owner, the worst phone call is the one that comes from the side of a highway: a truck has broken down, a delivery is late, and a day’s earnings are slipping away with every hour in the workshop. Intangles, a Pune company that has spent a decade teaching vehicles to speak up before they fail, has just made that early warning available to fleets of every size in India. On 2 November 2026, the company launched a new AIS-140-certified product range that turns a government-mandated tracking device into a full predictive-intelligence system — so the smallest operator gets the same foresight as the largest.

Intangles was founded in 2016 by Anup Patil, Neil Unadkat, Jayshri Patil and Aman Singh, and it is built around a simple, powerful idea: a vehicle already knows when something is going wrong, long before it stops. Its InRoute platform combines physics-based analytics with machine learning and digital-twin technology, reading signals from the vehicle’s own systems and modelling how components behave in the real world. The company says its predictive intelligence delivers 96% predictive AI accuracy and has helped fleets reduce powertrain breakdowns by 75%. That technology already monitors more than 400,000 vehicles, and in October 2025 the company raised a $30 million Series B round led by Avataar Venture Partners, with follow-on investment from Baring India Private Equity and Cactus Partners, to take its predictive AI to fleets around the world.

Compliance is only the starting point

AIS-140 is the Government of India’s standard for vehicle tracking and emergency alerts, and every plan in the new range is AIS-140 certified, with VAHAN-linked registration handled for the customer and a 3-year warranty on InRoute. But where a conventional AIS-140 device mostly answers one question — where is the vehicle right now? — Intangles’ range goes much further. It reads engine data, fault codes, coolant temperature and fuel analytics that the standard itself does not require, and turns them into warnings, repair guidance and cost estimates in rupees. The result, the company says, is a fleet that is repaired in the workshop on its own schedule, not on the roadside on the breakdown’s schedule.

Four plans for four fleet priorities

The range comes in four configurations, each built around a different fleet priority, and every one runs on InRoute. InCert is the entry point: AIS-140-certified tracking, trip management, geofencing and driver alerts, plus hub and daily reports, emergency-button alerts and tamper alerts. InSight builds on that foundation with driver behaviour reports, fuel consumption insights, fault codes with repair guidance, and idling and coasting alerts — the everyday numbers that quietly decide whether a fleet makes money.

InGenious is where the prediction really shines. It offers predictive vehicle health monitoring, advanced fuel management including fuel theft detection, DriveIQ driver scorecards, cost impact in rupees, automated fleet tasks and fleet performance reports — a system designed to spot a failing component, price the risk, and schedule the fix before the failure happens. InVision+ adds AI-powered video telematics to the certified device, with one camera facing the road and another facing the driver, in-cabin voice alerts, collision and lane warnings, drowsiness and phone-use alerts, driver identification and 150 hours of video on demand, so safety events come with evidence, not just an alert.

Choice, for five trucks or five hundred

That choice is the heart of the launch. The portfolio covers cabs and three-wheelers, small, light, intermediate, medium and heavy commercial vehicles, vans and buses, with compatibility varying by configuration — and the company is selling it two ways at once. Alongside its field sales channels, Intangles has launched InCentral, a direct-to-consumer e-commerce platform where operators can find the right configuration, check vehicle compatibility, buy online and generate VLTD certificates in one place. As Anup Patil, CEO of Intangles, puts it: “The size of a fleet should not determine whether an operator can access predictive intelligence. A vehicle off the road can significantly affect a business, whether it owns five vehicles or five hundred. With a certified device already installed and connected whenever the vehicle runs, operators should be able to choose the value it delivers to their business.”

It is a wonderfully Indian engineering story: a Pune team that started by modelling how vehicles actually wear out, built a digital twin of the truck itself, and is now putting that foresight into the hands of the small operator running a handful of vehicles as surely as the giant running hundreds. From a blinking tracker on a dashboard to a system that warns, explains and even prices the problem before it happens, Intangles is turning compliance into confidence — and keeping India’s trucks, buses and cabs moving, on time, and out of the workshop until they choose to go in.
