Picture an evening power cut in a modern Indian home: the fans keep turning, the lights stay warm, the Wi-Fi router never blinks — and the box keeping it all alive is small enough to tuck neatly beside a cabinet, in a colour that actually suits the room. That is the everyday picture Luminous Power Technologies is aiming for with PIXEL, its new ultra-compact home inverter, launched on 4 November 2026.

Luminous, the Gurugram-based energy solutions company, has built PIXEL around a simple idea: home power backup should be powerful, future-ready and good-looking, not a bulky box hidden away in a corner. The launch model, the PIXEL Q1200, is rated at 900 VA with 756 W of output, and it is designed for the everyday loads of a modern household — lights, fans, television and connectivity — through a power cut.
Smaller by design, not by compromise
The headline engineering change is in the architecture. PIXEL uses a heatsink-free design that the company says delivers high power density in a compact form, so the inverter takes up to 40% less footprint than conventional inverters while keeping the performance Luminous is known for. The Q1200 measures just 250 × 155 × 150 mm and weighs 8.45 kg, making it easy to place in smaller homes and apartments where space is precious.
Inside, the inverter is built on Modified Square Wave technology, with an efficient transformer and Luminous’s proprietary technologies for charging, efficiency and battery life. Smart low-voltage charging technology automatically adjusts to fluctuations in the power supply, and the company says PIXEL charges up to 20% faster than conventional models — so backup capacity recovers quickly after a cut, ready for the next one.
Ready for lithium-ion, friendly to lead-acid
One of PIXEL’s most forward-looking features is its battery flexibility. The inverter works with a single battery and supports both lithium-ion batteries (12.8 V) and conventional lead-acid batteries (12 V), giving families the freedom to choose the battery technology that suits them today while staying ready for tomorrow’s shift to lithium-ion. An Eco and UPS mode selector lets users choose how the inverter behaves, and Luminous’s LVFC, SR and ABCC technologies work together to improve charging efficiency, operating efficiency and battery life across varying voltage conditions.
That flexibility matters for Indian homes. Power conditions vary enormously from city to city and season to season, and a backup system that adapts to low voltage, charges quickly and treats its battery gently is one that keeps working beautifully year after year.
Designed for the living room, not just the utility corner
PIXEL also breaks with the idea that an inverter must look purely functional. It comes in four contemporary colours — Matte Blue, Deep Teal, Subtle Beige and Royal Maroon — with a minimalist design meant to complement modern interiors rather than clash with them. Luminous says consumer expectations have moved on: people want advanced technology and powerful performance, but without compromising on design, space or aesthetics — and PIXEL is its answer to that shift.
The PIXEL Q1200 is available through Luminous’s official website at an introductory price of ₹9,000, against an MRP of ₹9,999, and it carries a 3-year warranty. For a company that has powered Indian homes for decades, PIXEL is a confident next step: a smaller, smarter, lithium-ready inverter that brings the future of home energy into the living room today.
