Every traveller knows the airport walk: one hand dragging a suitcase, the other juggling a phone, a coffee and a boarding pass, all while keeping an eye on a bag that never seems to stay where it should. Arista Vault, a Gurugram company, has spent years turning that everyday frustration into a companion instead — luggage that follows its owner, carries its owner, and never lets itself get lost.

The company’s flagship is Jarviz, an AI-powered smart suitcase built around a beautifully simple idea: until now, we carried our luggage, but now luggage can carry us. Using onboard AI sensors and motion detection, Jarviz follows its owner at walking speed for up to 10 kilometres, the company says, maintaining a safe distance and steering around obstacles as it goes. And when the terminal feels endless, its Ride On mode lets the traveller sit down and ride for up to 5 kilometres at speeds of up to 12 km/h, with a Climb Mode for ramps and uneven ground.
Security is woven through the whole design. Jarviz carries live GPS tracking, so its location can be followed worldwide, and the wider Arista Vault range adds fingerprint-lock bags that open only for their owner, anti-theft alarms, and wallets that alert their owner before they are left behind. A built-in power bank charges a phone on the move, and the current Jarviz models work through their onboard AI sensors and remote control, the company says, with app connectivity in development for future models.
The story began in 2018, when founders Purvi Roy and Atul Gupta set out to solve problems they had lived themselves — a broken suitcase on an academic trip to Milan, and identity documents lost when a wallet was stolen in the Delhi Metro. They named the company for the Sanskrit word Arista, meaning unhurt, and built a hardware brand around that promise: everyday things, protected by intelligence hidden inside them. From a first smart wallet with anti-lost technology, the range has grown to 20 products across four categories, spanning smart wallets, fingerprint-lock bags and smart luggage.
The growth shows how far that idea has travelled. Arista Vault says its products now reach customers in more than 15 countries, with over a million happy customers and more than 20 patents to its name. Revenue rose from Rs 7.71 crore in FY24 to Rs 17.02 crore in FY25, according to Inc42, and the company had already clocked Rs 37 crore in FY26 at the time of that report, with a Rs 100 crore target for FY27. Around 65% of sales come through digital direct-to-consumer channels, the company says, while airport experience centres — including stores opened in Ahmedabad and Hyderabad in 2025 — let travellers try the smart luggage in person.
Along the way, the company has collected some of India’s most visible stamps of approval: selection for MeitY’s national innovation programme, funding on Shark Tank India, a National Startup Award 2026 as a Women-Led Innovator for founder Purvi Roy, and co-development work with Japanese companies in 2025, both highlighted by the company, and a place among the finalists of the Startup World Cup India at India Mobile Congress 2026. Core technology is developed in India, the company says, with production in Kolkata, and every product put through repeated rounds of testing and certification before it reaches a traveller.
Arista Vault’s bet is that travel gear should work as hard as the traveller does. A suitcase that follows you through the terminal, carries you when you are tired, and tells you exactly where it is at all times is not a gadget for its own sake — it is one small, brilliant piece of Indian engineering making every journey a little lighter.
