For a decade, Mivi has been the sound in millions of Indian pockets and living rooms — earbuds on the morning commute, soundbars under the family television, speakers at every celebration. Now the Hyderabad brand has built the factory to match that ambition: a ₹200-crore integrated research, development and manufacturing facility that takes it from audio specialist to full consumer-electronics maker.

The new facility, at E-City in Tukkuguda near Hyderabad, was inaugurated on 31 October 2026 by Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu. Set up by Mivi’s parent company, Avishakaran Industries Pvt Ltd, it brings research, development and manufacturing under one roof — the company says the unit can produce five lakh earbuds and 75,000 soundbars every month, and employs around 2,500 people.

That scale matters because Mivi’s range has grown far beyond its first earbuds. The company now makes true wireless earbuds, neckbands, headphones, speakers and soundbars, and says its in-house research has produced proprietary technologies such as 3D Stage and Mivi AI. The company says its products are designed in Hyderabad and assembled locally, tuned for Indian music, Indian commutes and Indian heat and dust — and, a decade on from its first products, it counts four million customers.

The Hyderabad plant arrives just as Mivi makes its biggest leap yet: into smartphones. The company recently launched the Mivi One 5G, its first phone, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor with a 6,000mAh battery and a 50MP camera, the company says. It is a natural next step for a brand that has spent ten years proving an Indian company can design and manufacture consumer technology for Indian consumers — and the company says an indigenously engineered smartphone is planned for the coming year.

The co-founders see the factory as the foundation for everything that follows. “The inauguration of this facility marks an important milestone as we complete ten years of building in India,” said Midhula Devabhaktuni, co-founder of Mivi. “As we enter our next phase of growth, we remain committed to investing in our own technology and strengthening our manufacturing presence in India.” Viswanadh Kandula, co-founder, added that the facility reflects the company’s confidence in India’s potential as a hub for electronics manufacturing.

And the company is already looking beyond this plant: Mivi has sought an additional 100 acres of land for further expansion, according to the minister at the inauguration. From earbuds to soundbars to smartphones, the Hyderabad factory is where India’s own consumer-electronics story gets its next, much bigger chapter.
